Heather Hutt, a lifelong Democratic activist and public servant from Los Angeles, recently made history as California’s first Black U.S. Senate State Director. During her term under Senator Harris, Hutt was the key liaison for constituents and California leaders. She used her role to advocate for women and people of color in healthcare, support DACA recipients, and challenge the Trump Administration’s policies on Dreamers and immigrants.
